California Calls has a formal relationship with several statewide organizations which play important roles within the alliance.
Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) and Communities for a New California (CNC) are both statewide anchor organizations with grassroots members – including low-income families in urban areas, as well as farmworkers and rural residents – located in several regions throughout the state. As anchor organizations, these groups receive training, voter technology and financial support to educate and engage their statewide members, and to coordinate with our regional anchor groups.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (AAAJ) a grassroots organization dedicated to providing the growing Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community with multilingual, culturally-sensitive legal services, education and civil rights support; the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN), a grassroots organization improving the health, well being and political strength in low-income Asian Pacific Islander communities; the California Federation of Teachers (CFT), comprised of K-12 and community college teachers; the Courage Campaign, one of the largest online activist networks in the country; and the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE), a leader in addressing working poverty, inadequate healthcare and polluted communities are all formal statewide ally organizations. We share commonly-held principles about the need for equitable tax and fiscal policy reform in California. Utilizing a variety of organizing approaches, we work together as strategic allies to advance our mutual goals for greater equity and fairness in California’s tax and fiscal policy.
